Technical Principles Binoculars RED

Binoculars actually mean two telescopes mounted side-by-side and aligned to point in the same direction, allowing the viewer to use both eyes (binocular vision) when viewing distant objects.

Binoculars give users a three-dimensional image: for nearer objects, the two views, presented to each of the viewer's eyes from slightly different viewpoints, produce a merged view with an impression of depth.

Binoculars by Galilean optics used a convex objective and a concave eyepiece lens. The objective is positive, while ocular is a negative lens. Back focus point of objective matches front focus of ocular which determines the total length of binocular. Observed image is upright.

The Galilean design has the advantage of presenting an erect image.

Optical elements are produced with injection method of optical plastic PMMA – Poly (methyl methacrylate).

Binocular is intended for observing objects which are at 6 meters (~20 feet) distance or more.

This type of construction is well known as 'opera glasses' or 'theater glasses'.
